Scrap Densification System

PROBLEM: When transporting recyclables or waste like plastic trim or metal scrap, economy and efficiency are of vital importance. Loose materials take up a lot of space increasing transportation costs and hurting the bottom line.

SOLUTION: Compass Systems designs, engineers and manufactures scrap densification systems to compress lighter materials into a dense material that is easier to store or haul. Instead of filling trucks or containers with loose waste, a scrap densification system can compress scrap into bricks for stacking or into tubes for easy transportation on a conveyor system. Dense materials can be fed into a repelletizer, used as a raw material for manufacturing new products, recycled, or disposed of.

In fact, shredded or unshredded metal scrap can be densified into a secondary raw material that is pure and in conformity with the high standards required to recycle metals.

Depending on the material, densifying waste reduces its volume as much as 50:1. This reduction in volume results in an environmental advantage of decreasing space used in landfills and an economic advantage of decreased transportation costs. Additionally, recycling becomes less expensive.

Compass Systems designs, engineers and manufactures custom scrap densification systems made for your unique needs. Differing industrial applications and materials call for differences in the type and configuration of scrap densification equipment. Feed type and rate, heated or non-heated, output type and portability are all considered in the engineering and design of a scrap densification system that suites your individual needs.
